OU began as “The Oxford Mission” in the 19th century, serving as a missional outpost to bring people together in order to share the good news of Jesus. Inspired by this heritage we’re launching this retreat with the same missional spirit: to bring men from different socio-economic, racial, ethnic, and denominational backgrounds together to encounter Jesus, understand their worth in Jesus, find Christian community, and grow in discipleship.
Fun Fact: This retreat ministry started in Monroe, LA almost 20 years ago, and has expanded to several different cities and states. Each retreat is staffed by former participants who volunteer their time to make the experience a powerful one for others, and as of January 1st approximately 70 men from 6 different states are coming to Oxford to help plant this retreat! It really is an Oxford Mission!
